My first real computer crash under Linux! This deserves a... celebration? A mention in my LJ, anyway. :P

(wrt HMMT)
(22:59:46) JP math nut: you're lucky... i was hearing you'd only get to send 0

Actually, it turns out, we're sending 22. But still only 1 team.

Mickey's back from Israel!

(20:44:47) Sniffnoy: where does usaco training get its seemingly random problem numbers?
(20:44:59) fantasychrono: that is a good question
(20:45:04) fantasychrono: probably the order in which they put them up
(20:45:12) fantasychrono: they changed stuff every once in a while

Oh, do you remember "p?" and "?p"? No? Good. They returned today, in the guise of "p!" and "!p". Whoops. Shouldn't have said that.

I really need to figure out this whole "dynamic programming" thing...

I'm a White's Tree Frog!

Also known as the Smiling Tree Frog or Dumpy Tree Frog due to the nature of its appearance, this frog is a very hardy creature and a favorite pet of amateur frog owners, although some pet owners complain that they are not active enough. These frogs love to eat, which can make them quite fat, hence their "dumpy" appearance. Unlike many frogs, these frogs do well with other frogs of their species and are fairly friendly. They like a warm and moderately humid habitat and eat larger insects like crickets, cockroaches, locusts, moths and beetles.

What kind of Frog are you?

So... it's Sunday... the last day before school... the last day to finish up that work that's due when we get back...

Anyway on to last night. Or back to last night. Or something. Haha.

Yah, so, of course, last night was really just like any other non-school night... working on USACO training... getting a weird bug where on case 9 the program outputs that the shortest sequence of moves is "1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1", where, not only is this not right, it's clearly ridiculous as any move repeated 4 times cancels itself out... I should get back to that...

But that's not the amazing thing, obviously. The amazing thing is that...

Well, looking at the log, Steph invited me to play Bridge on Yahoo at... 22:39. I played until about 5 till 1, and I *actually got to see the end of a rubber*. Unfortunately I can't really say I played a full rubber of Bridge as I was actually replacing someone after the first 3 hands of so, but I very nearly did.

I'd say "this is why we never kept score last year" - and it was - except of course that would be an exaggeration as all those seniors who played Bridge every day were much better than us - it was ridiculously rare that any of us actually made our bids... IIRC, the other team *never* did. :P

Yah, we're awful. But still I've never played long enough for that before!

Hehe.
