...and so it ends.

Not the round, thankfully - the Tetrarchs never intended to end the round, and it's not like the Tetrarchy would have come into effect yet anyway - and no, nobody has found a paradox - but the Coup. Looney has ruled Case 5254 (see last entry) TRUE. It hasn't really *ended*, as such, though, as it never actually happened in the first place.

...of course, it could always be *appealed*...

...it is also now coming to light that Rule 109 also applies to Rules 460 (The Executive), 511 (Consensus Voting), 514 (Trophies) and 525 (Dependent Submissions)... most of which aren't too important, but if it turns out that The Executive rule has been null and void (what a redundancy) all this time, *that* could certainly... well, no, it wouldn't really affect things horribly much. It would just mean that JediSquid never lost those points for that veto he never used, there have never been any State of the Nomic addresses, and that there is no such thing as a Pardon referendum.

Hm.

"Don't be fooled by the Establishment propaganda," they said. "Obviously, the Coup can only pass if a majority of players vote for it, and thus are in it. Therefore the Coup will not hand over power to a minority of players."

Very true, as the only people not in it are Day and I.

But *this* was something that none of us foresaw.

Jef, pitboss, Catesby and JediSquid have banded together to form the Tetrarchy. The Tetrarchy is being implemented by a Coup Rule Change, made by all 4 Tetrarchs.

That doesn't leave enough Coup members to veto it.

The Tetrarchy will be much more powerful than the Coup. Their Edicts will not be subject to all the restrictions of Coup Rule Changes, and the Tetrarchy rule will be Rule 8. (Note that it is also much easier for them to veto each other, though. :P )

But with a few vetos already having been made (before it was realized that it was futile to do so), interestingly enough, this probably won't leave enough vetos to prevent the Coup Rule Changes that would destroy the Coup itself from passing, and only the Tetrarchs will have this sort of power at all.[0]

Just like any other revolution, no?

(Thankfully The Rules has submitted an RFJ that Rule 560 (The Coup) is entirely void, due to everybody's favorite Rule 109. Looney is the judge. We'll see what happens.)

[0]My mistake, actually. Due to timing issues, none of these vetoes were actually submitted. Furthermore, there is actually only 1 Coup Rule Change eliminating the Coup.
