For those of you who really feel like breaking your ears: http://www.codehappy.net/birthday_cake.mp3 (Thanks to Kevin for finding this)
It doesn't sound quite as bad, now that I'm not actually hearing it in the game. But that doesn't mean it's not awful; let Grenadier's reaction be a warning to you.
Interestingly enough, the song is missing some of the lyrics found in the lyrics site listed below. It does match the lyrics listed on GameFAQs. Hm. Perhaps this is a shortened version of the song?
(22:18:17) KEvBO3 y2k: I do not think I understand: THe MP3 does not match that link I just sent?
(22:18:24) Sniffnoy: right
(22:18:30) KEvBO3 y2k: I didn't notice...
(22:18:59) Sniffnoy: "I don't give a flying fuck though" is gone, as is "We made a war with the Vietnamese
We loved LSD, we died easily"
(22:20:19) KEvBO3 y2k: well, there you go... the game is rated teen... they removed profanity, drug usage, and military conflicts that may cause problems if included...
(22:20:37) Sniffnoy: ah, of course
(22:20:45) Sniffnoy: but not "I pour pot in the birthday cake"?
(22:21:17) KEvBO3 y2k: Well, one is condoning the use of LSD... the other is just... some idiot pouring pot in a birthday cake.
(22:21:23) Sniffnoy: LOL
(22:21:43) KEvBO3 y2k: idk...
(22:22:28) KEvBO3 y2k: Either that, or Sega is does not know english well enough to understand what the word "pot" was referring to.
(22:22:52) KEvBO3 y2k: I mean.. they are talking about cooking
(22:23:09) Sniffnoy: perhaps they thought it was the other way around? pouring the birthday cake in a pot? :)
(22:23:25) KEvBO3 y2k: prolly
I listened to it with the volume way down, for the record. It *still* hurt my ears.
