Hm. Well, I really ought to make something of a more positive entry - it seems all my recent ones have just been complaints about my (probably relatively small, unfortunately) workload. I don't want you people to get the impression I'm depressed or anything.

As you may know, Dr. Ostfeld's brother is now teaching at BCA as well, and he is, you guessed it, also a Dr. This leaves the problem of what to call them now; obviously, "Mr. Dr. Ostfeld" and "Mrs. Dr. Ostfeld" is out. Well, yesterday, Dr. Crane (that is, Mr. Dr. Crane) gave us an answer: Dr. Carl Ostfeld is "Dr. Ostfeld the Younger", which I suppose makes Dr. David Ostfeld "Dr. Ostfeld the Elder". I don't think I've actually heard anyone call him that, though.

Those of you who read ahbou will have already seen this, but this is just hilarious, here's a link to its Google: ANNOUNCE: Acme::Labs 1.0

So... tomorrow's Wednesday... I could do my work, what with nothing due tomorrow... or not. :)

Let's see... ah yes. Today was the first QB meeting, no actual practice done, we essentially just saw who was there, tried to figure out what competitions we were doing, saw what information we could find on them, and filled out Mr. Sayres's little contact-information-and-what-competitions-you'll-go-to spreadsheet. Yarble. James IMed Jess to get information about the Columbia (Columbia High School, that is... I'm sure you've heard this before) tournament, which has no website... and I suddenly remembered something about the continued fraction for e (which goes [2,1,2,1,1,4,1,1,6,1,1,8,...]) and Quizbowl. Or rather, I didn't. See, I wasn't quite sure that was actually the continued fraction, and I found a calculator (I lost mine) and started calculating it, and I got this sudden sense of deja vu (no accents, as I haven't the slightest clue where they should go) about something with Quizbowl and the continued fraction of e. I was quite sure *something* had happened with it. Jess hadn't the slightest clue what I was talking about, but then again, neither did I, really.

Did you know that there's a PCS panel 30a and a PCS panel 30b? (Actually I'm currently on 24.)

You know, if you take one of those giant clipper-things, and put it over your lips, it makes it impossible to talk. Yes, I know that because I just tried it.

meet too many people before you realize it isn't actually necessary.
