So I've figured out what QR is. Considering that a statement which I was pretty sure must be QR was on the back of one of the old PROMYS shirts which Glenn once wore, and that a conjecture was made in class that was very definitely both quadratic and reciprocal, when the definition of the Legendre symbols appeared on the pset (I've started appreviating pset as ψ; beat that for shortness), I was able to figure out that if one turned that conjecture into a biconditional, it was exactly equivalent to the statement on that shirt, which I already suspected was QR.

Chris has also pointed out that there's a summation on the homework that seems related to it; so apparently they're having us start to prove it...

(As to whether I can actually *do* that summation, we'll see.)

(Chris is now also saying that geometrically, it's easy.)
