Ewww, pickles...
Jun. 12th, 2003 05:12 pm(16:49:11) Sniffnoy: well
(16:49:26) Sniffnoy: this is an interesting little pickle I seem to be in
(16:49:32) Sniffnoy: I have a bio project due tomorrow
(16:49:39) Grenadier 32: Ewww, pickle. . .
(16:49:42) Sniffnoy: LOL
(16:49:59) Sniffnoy: yeah, that's why I said I'm in a pickle, and not, say, a potato chip
(16:50:09) Grenadier 32: Ewww, potato chip. . .
(16:50:13) Sniffnoy: bah
(16:50:31) Grenadier 32: So anyway. . .
(16:50:32) Grenadier 32: What happened?
(16:50:37) Sniffnoy: it's a group project, see
(16:50:41) Sniffnoy: 5 people
(16:50:55) Sniffnoy: and we were each assigned a part of it
(16:51:10) Sniffnoy: well, Tuesday was field day
(16:51:31) Sniffnoy: now, I should probably note that Tom has been the main organizer
(16:51:39) Sniffnoy: and that Rajesh has been trying to get everyone to work faster
(16:52:05) Sniffnoy: yesterday, Rajesh tells us that, dissatisfied with the speed we were working at, he cut field day to do the whole project himself
(16:52:40) Sniffnoy: Tom's been trying to get the files from him ever since
(16:52:48) Sniffnoy: they appear to be nonexistent
(16:53:18) Grenadier 32: Ouch. . .
(16:53:27) Sniffnoy: well-
(16:53:27) Grenadier 32: And so your entire group is screwed because of that?
(16:53:44) Sniffnoy: well, Pablo refuses to work because he still thinks Rajesh actually did it
(16:53:49) Sniffnoy: Rajesh certainly won't work
(16:53:56) Sniffnoy: we can't contact Ralph
(16:54:00) Sniffnoy: so that just leaves me and Tom
(16:55:30) Sniffnoy: furthermore, I can't really work on it right now, because that involves some .docs. I can't do that on this computer because OOO won't work since I accidentally clobbered some Perl modules it requires, and I can't use KWord for it, because it wont' read .docs properly
(16:55:48) Sniffnoy: and of course Windows won't boot so that gets rid of the possibility of using MSWord as well
(16:55:51) Sniffnoy: and both other computers are in use
(16:56:14) Grenadier 32: So basically everything picked the wrong place and time to go wrong? :-P
(16:56:31) Sniffnoy: no, everything picked the right time and place to go wrong :P
(16:56:43) Grenadier 32: However you want to put it :-P
(16:59:12) Sniffnoy: I honestly think I'm only going to remember a single thing I learned doing this project
(16:59:21) Sniffnoy: not that that's uncommon :)
(16:59:30) Grenadier 32: Which is. . .?
(16:59:50) Sniffnoy: which is that Ginkgo biloba is the only living species in its entire phylum
(17:00:03) Grenadier 32: What's its phylum?
(17:00:09) Sniffnoy: Ginkgophyta
(17:00:16) Grenadier 32: What kingdom?
(17:00:22) Sniffnoy: Plantae, obviously
(17:00:25) Grenadier 32: Ah
And, of course, I still have to partly redo that bio lab, not to mention that overdue chem lab...
(16:49:26) Sniffnoy: this is an interesting little pickle I seem to be in
