The Great Race
Jul. 20th, 2005 07:43 pmForgot to include this in the previous entry, so I'm making a second one. So it goes.
So today was the great calculator vs. super magic box race."But," you say, "It's only Wednesday. The race is supposed to be held on the day before the midterm." Well, I don't know. Apparently it was held today because we're going faster than in previous years. But so it was. Even though it's held today every year, a bunch of us were surprised because we had somehow managed to misrecall it as always being on Thursday.
Anyway, the first-year's champion this time was Ben Wolfe, not Infinity-Boy as we had hoped. In fact I believe Infinity-Boy even made a comment afterward about how his calculator was better. :P
The number this year was 166. I think the counselors had meant to come up with a longer one to compete with the new calculators that have come out recently, but Glenn still won by a lot anyway.
The JCs had also asked Glenn if he would say after the race that the calculator had gotten pwned, which, unfortunately, he did not do.
In other bizarre things from lecture today, Glenn referred to the Pigeonhole Principle as "the principle of the octopedes".
